Lesson 11

How a Believer must study the Word – Speaking the Word continued

V     Psalms 119:171-172  My lips shall utter praise, when thou hast taught me thy statutes. My tongue shall speak of thy word: for all thy commandments are righteousness.

The key to understanding the homework from last week is the relationship between the flesh and the Spirit.

V     1 Corinthians 2:14   14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Agur is not saying he is void of understanding, he is saying that he does not have the understanding of a man. He said he did not learn wisdom, neither had a knowledge of the Holy.

In other words everything that he had known was a revelation from heaven

Scriptures on knowledge by revelation

V     Matthew 16:16-17  And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.

V     Galatians 1:11-12  But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

V     1 Corinthians 2:9-12  But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, …

V     Ephesians 1:17  That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

V     Ephesians 3:18-19  May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

V     1 John 5:20  And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

V     Colossians 1:26-27  Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations…
