LESSON 15:

JOHN 15 – Bearing Fruit

This chapter highlights our relationship to Christ and our purpose in the Kingdom of Heaven.

Three conditions for a fruitful life  (Keys to bringing forth much fruit)

1.                Cleansing – John 15:2,3

Eph 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it (the church) with the washing of water by the word,

Heb 12:11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.

2.                Abiding def: remain continue, endure, stand– John 15:4-10

Psalm 91:1-3 abide under the shadow of the Almighty.

Ps 15:1 LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

John 14:16 The Comforter (Holy Ghost) will abide with us forever.

1John 2:24 Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and in the Father.

25 And this is the promise that he hath promised us, [even] eternal life.

26 These [things] have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.

27 But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

28 ¶ And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

29 If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him.

3.                Obedience – John 15:5,10,12,14
