Not Ashamed of the Gospel

        Romans 1:16For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

We can easily overlook the importance of not being ashamed of Jesus, as we carry on our every day existence.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is much more than a convincing argument, for better moral living. The Gospel is Godís power to bring salvation, meaning to bring deliverance, healing, freedom.

Going to church does not qualify as being unashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Peter affirmed to Jesus that although others would leave Him, that Peter himself would not. (Matthew 26:31-35)

What can we learn from this? That fear is a powerful deterrent to speaking the Gospel of Jesus Christ. So much so that the Lord had to send the Holy Ghost to bring a supernatural boldness and authority to enable His disciples to stand.

        2 Corinthians 4:4In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

        Isaiah 53:1Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?

        Jeremiah 23:29Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

        2 Corinthians 10:4-5(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

        Hebrews 13:5-6Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

        Romans 10:13-17

If we have received the Holy Ghost we have also been sent

        Acts 1:8But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
