Relationship one to another
North Shore Christian Centre - Home Bible Study notes
THE MOST IMPORTANT MESSAGE IN THE BIBLE, without this message you will fail in your walk with the Lord.
Also revealed in the 2nd commandment, “love your neighbour as yourselves”. We are instructed that without love we are tinkling cymbals and sounding brass. Many of our relationships are superficial; we are closed to one another, defensive against the possibility of hurt.
Christ’s love for us involved hurt, pain, rejection and sorrow. If we first cannot accept Christ’s love for us we cannot love another.
Let us be challenged by the Word of the Lord in this next group of lessons.
John 13:34 "A NEW COMMANDMENT I give unto you, that ye LOVE ONE ANOTHER; as I have LOVED you, that ye also LOVE ONE ANOTHER."
Here we have the measure of love. We are to love one another as Christ loved us.
Remember Peter’s question to Jesus? How many times must I forgive my brother?
John 13:35 "BY THIS shall ALL men know ye are MY disciples, if ye have LOVE one for another."
Since our measure of love for one another is Christ, it is understandable that this unearthly love is the testimony of the true Church of Jesus Christ.
