What a glorious way to consider our position and servant hood. Heaven has sent us to earth with a mission, a ministry, and authority.
1. As ambassadors from heaven we have accepted a responsibility, a ministry portfolio. We have agreed to carry out the wishes of our Heavenly King. As we consider the parables of Jesus gave regarding the kingdom of heaven is very clear to us that heaven had to take the highest place in our hearts. (The parable of the Pearl of great Price, parable of the talent etc.)
Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.
1 Corinthians 7:23 Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men.
2 Corinthians 5:14-15 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
Luke 14:28-33 counting the cost
2. As ambassadors from heaven we must constantly be aware of how we are representing our sovereign.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
As Ambassadors for the Kingdom of
Heaven we have been given the authority to act of behalf of our King. To
represent the sovereign, eternal,
2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
Ephesians 6:20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
How important for us to know the Kingdom of Heaven, to be on intimate speaking terms with its ruler.
