In the beginning of creation the Lord worked six days and on the seventh He rested. The Jews celebrate the seventh day as the Lord said the Sabbath is the day of rest from their labours. No work was to be done, manna was not given, and fellowship with the Lord was given preeminence over all things.
There is a hint of the day of rest once again coming when satan will be bound a thousand years (one day Ė the seventh day since creation was finished) and during this time I believe will be the marriage supper of the Lamb.
Hebrews 4:1-11† Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
Isaiah 14:3† And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,
For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of
Matthew 11:29† Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Revelation 14:13† And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
