NOAH

LESSON 7

THE BUILDING OF THE ARK cont’d.

Gen 6:14         "Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch."

Comment        This is the first revelation Noah had about the Ark he was to build.  This should be our first revelation of the Church we are to build!

THREE IMPORTANT POINTS TO CONSIDER

1)      It was to be constructed of boards from the Gopher wood tree (unknown).  So the Church must be constructed from members out of an unknown tree - Jesus The Tree Of Life!

2)      It was to be built with rooms in it.

3)      The Ark was to have pitch applied, within and without (Anointing) or it would be of no use, because it would sink!  Therefore the Church, without the pitch or anointing of the Holy Spirit, will not be of any use, because it will not be sealed!  (Eph 1:13 “…Ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise.”)

Comment        We can now understand that the boards or members are useless alone in building the Ark or the Church, without the pitch or anointing.  We may build something that looks like the Ark or the Church, but when the testing and trials come, it will not stand the test, and many lives will be lost!

THE PATTERN IS GIVEN TO NOAH (NOT IMAGINATION)

Gen 6:15‑16    "And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of:..."

Comment        These dimensions we would use to make a sturdy, sea going ship today!  We must understand that we cannot put together a group of boards and make the Ark.  Just as we cannot bring together a crowd of Christians and build the Church!  Something is missing!!  (Everybody must obey the word and calling of God for their life.)

THE MISSING MEMBERS (COMPARE THE ARK WITH THE CHURCH)

Comment        Before we can even consider the boards or members, we must first consider that we build on a good foundation!

Summary        It was God’s design for the Ark, Noah built according to the plans laid, we too are workers together with Christ, He has laid the foundation and given the plans.
