GOD THE FATHER
JESUS SPEAKS OF GOD THE FATHER
John "…The Father that sent me."
THE ONLY WAY TO THE FATHER
John 14:6 "…No man cometh unto the Father, but by Me."
Comment Many religions try to come to the Father some other way but the Father does not know them, neither does He hear them.
HOW GOD THE FATHER KNOWS OUR NAME
Matt "Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven."
Comment If we do not confess Jesus as our Lord and Saviour the Father doesn't even know us.
JESUS TEACHES US TO PRAY TO THE FATHER
Matt 6:9‑15 "After this manner therefore pray ye: ‑ 'Our Father'…"
Comment The term "Our Father" signifies a relationship through the second birth into the family of God, whereby God becomes our Father!
JESUS TELLS US HOW TO GLORIFY THE FATHER
John 15:8 "Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much Fruit..."
Comment As God the Father sent His Son to bring forth much fruit, so Jesus sends us out into the world to spread the good news and glorify God, by bearing much fruit!
AT THE NAME OF JESUS THE FATHER LISTENS
John "…Ye shall ask of the Father in My name, He will give it to you."
Comment The condition:
If we confess Jesus before men;
And bear much fruit (souls) to the Father;
God the Father will hear our prayers.
John "…as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you!"
GOD THE FATHER
LESSON 2 cont’d.
Summary The New Birth is the entrance into the family of God, without evidence of a relationship with the heavenly Father we cannot possibly be born of His Spirit. Looking at the scriptures this way helps us to understand that we are growing and maturing everyday we are part of this new family. Like a new born, our eyes begin to open and focus, enabling us to see the glory and wonder of our Father in Heaven. Our ears begin to tune in to His voice, which is spiritual and little by little we begin to understand what He is saying. The older we grow the more of His character we see and His heart is revealed. These things do not take place immediately but little by little. Our faith and understanding grows everyday.
