GOD THE FATHER

LESSON 13

THE STARS

Gen 1:16           "God made… the stars also."

Comment          The stars are a perfect type of the Church or many membered body of Christ.

1)   Every star is different.

2)   Some stars are dim because they are further away from Christ.

3)   In the nighttime, the stars are revealed and let their light shine.

GOD REFERS TO THE STARS IN HIS PROMISE TO ABRAHAM

Gen 22:17         "…I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the Heaven…"

JOSEPH'S DREAM

Gen 37:9           "…Eleven stars made obeisance to me."

Comment          The eleven stars were Joseph's eleven brothers (Tribes of Israel). Also eleven apostles made obeisance to Jesus!

JESUS IS REFERRED TO AS A STAR

Num 24:17        "…There shall come a star out of Jacob (Israel)…"

Comment          Jesus was born of the seed of David which is the seed of Israel which is of the seed of Abraham.

2 Peter 1:19      "…Until the day dawn, and the Day Star arise in your hearts!"

FOR NAVIGATION

Jer 31:35           "…And of the stars for a light by night…"

Ps 136:9           "The moon and stars to rule by night…"

Comment          Ancient navigators chartered their course by some of the stars at night, because these stars never change or wander.

Jude 13             Wandering stars ‑ There are many Christians that do not let their light shine in this night season for direction to the lost!  Many wander to and fro, ever learning but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth or find their place in this heaven bound Body of Christ, which is the Church.  Certainly, we could not chart our course to Heaven by them for they are wandering stars!

STARS USED TO DIRECT THE WISE MEN TO JESUS

Matt 2:2            The Wise Men see His star.  "…We have seen His star in the East…"

Comment          The Wise Men today will be looking up to Heaven for signs of His glorious return for His Bride (the Church).

JESUS THE MORNING STAR

Rev 22:16          "…The Bright and Morning Star."

Comment          At the beginning of a new day, there is always that bright and morning star!  A reminder that Jesus is coming soon!
