THE BLOOD OF THE SACRIFICE LAMB
THE LORD GIVES THE INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PASSOVER
Ex 12:3 "…They shall take to them every man a lamb…" (For sacrifice)
Comment This command is for us even today! Jesus is our lamb, if we will take Him as our Saviour.
Ex 12:5 1. Your lamb shall be without blemish
2. A male of the first year (first born)
3. Ye shall take it out from the sheep.
Comment a. Jesus is the sinless Lamb of God.
b. It is His first born Son.
c. Jesus took on the form of man.
Ex 12:6 “…And the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening.”
Comment At the Feast of unleavened bread, which is the Passover, the congregation of Israel, consented, and killed the Lamb sacrifice!
Ex 12:7 And they shall take the BLOOD:
1. Put it on the side posts of their doors where they live;
2. And the upper door posts (lintel) where ye shall eat it!
Comment It is not sufficient to know how the Lamb of God was crucified and shed His blood, but rather, we should all accept the Lamb of God and have the BLOOD wash away our sins.
Ex 12:11 And thus shall ye eat it:
1. With your loins girded.
2. Your shoes on your feet.
3. Your staff in your hand.
4. Ye shall eat it in haste.
5. It is the Lord's Passover.
Comment a. Our loins should be girded about with understanding of His Word.
b. Our feet shod with the Gospel to tell the whole world of Him.
c. The two edged sword in our hand (The Word of God)
d. Haste ‑ Now is the accepted time, the Lamb has been slain!
