FAITH IN GOD
V Rom 1:20††††††††††† For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the World are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so they are without excuse!
Comment†††† We can see clearly with our eyes the heavens and all things created in it.† We can also understand they were not made by man, whom we can see, but by an invisible God!
††††††††††††††††††††††† "No man has seen God at anytime," man has seen His handiwork in creation but chooses to worship those things he can see or feel ‑ "Worship the creation more than the creator."
††††††††††††††††††††††† I suppose it would shock many Christians today to know we have idols in our lives, that we can see and feel, that hinder us in our walk of faith from putting all our hope, faith, trust in our Heavenly Father whom we cannot see.
V Deut 10:12† ††††††††††† What does the Lord thy God require of thee?† Fear Him ‑ Walk in all His ways ‑ Love Him ‑ Serve Him with all thy heart and soul!
Comment†††† Therefore, anything in our lives that we trust in more than the Lord, is an idol.† Such as ‑ money ‑ houses ‑ lands ‑ cares of this life.† "The love of money is the root of all evil!"
††††††††††††††††††††††† Usually, the idols are made by man's hands or imagined by man.† Man pays the price in silver and gold.
V Ps 135:15† ††††††††††† The idols of the heathen are silver and gold.
V Ps 115:4‑8††††††††††† Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.† They have mouths, but speak not:† Eyes have they, but they see not:† They have ears, but hear not:† Noses have they, but smell not:† They have hands, but handle not:† Feet have they, but they walk not:† They that make them are like unto them, so is everyone that trusteth in them!Ē IDOLS MADE BY MEN'S HANDS
V 1 Sam 5:2‑7 ††††††††††† Fish God ‑ "Dagon"
V Ex 32† †††††††††††† Golden calf.
Other examples of idols: Smiling Buddha, Statues of man or beast, made by the creator.
Buildings made by manís hands, called Churches etc, and even Angels.
It is a shame when these idols take the place of a loving and living God, who hears us when we cry out to Him with a sincere heart!
