GIDEON'S CONQUERING ARMY

V      Judges 7:1‑25††††††††

This passage of scripture tells us something about the ďhighĒ ways of our God. (Isa. 55:8) My ways are not your ways.

It teaches our victories donít come the obvious, or logical way all the time. And that in all things the Lord wants to be glorified.

As the Lord reduced the size of the Army, He showed us who He chose to fight.

What were the Qualifications?

What is the difference between bending down on your knees and lapping and putting your hand to your mouth and drinking out of your hand? (Hint Ė watchmen, ready soldiers)

The Lord put the fear of Gideon into his enemiesí hearts.

Gideonís enemies killed one another.

What a victory to be led by the Spirit of the Lord.

Joelís prophecy tells us of a similar battle in the end.

V      Joel 2:1Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the LORD cometh, for it is nigh at hand;

The Lord prepares a remnant as in Gideonís day

V      Joel 2:32And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

The Lordís Army

V      Ezekiel 37:7-10
