FAITH IN GOD
Faith and Prayer
Faith doesn’t quit, it cannot compromise, and cannot come from the Lord empty handed. Faith and prayer are inseparable. Prayer is established on the principle of asking and receiving, whether it is a question that requires an answer or deliverance from bondage. Faith is the perseverance, the endurance, and the patience that invokes an answer from above.
Nowhere is this better illustrated than by the parable that Jesus gave to the disciples.
V Luke 18:1-8 The widow and the unjust judge.
Take this portion of scripture and write down the points that you believe Jesus is teaching us.
1. “to this end” Jesus is teaching us that to achieve the outcome as spoken in the parable we must follow the guidelines.
2. Character of the Judge – unjust, unrighteous, without compassion
3. Character of the Widow – ---------------your thoughts here-----------
You carry on, put in ABC Books under Prayer.
V Jonah 2:7 When my soul fainted within me I remembered the LORD: and my prayer came in unto thee, into thine holy temple.
Jonah in the whale’s belly had only one hope, that the Lord of the whale would hear his prayer and deliver him. Faith in God, is also faith in His mercy and compassion, to forgive, deliver and restore.
V 1 Kings 18:37-38 Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again. Then the fire of the LORD fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
V Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Prayer is the seasoning, with which the Armour of God becomes effective.
Note: Prayer is watching with all perseverance.
V Luke 11:2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
V James 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
