FAITH IN GOD

LESSON 16:  Bible Messages on Faith - continued

The Psalm of Faith – Psalm 18 – conclusion

Verses 4-19

In these verses David remembers the deliverances he has experienced in his God. Not just a brief overview, but the circumstances complete with the feelings and emotions of that moment. “Ungodly men made me afraid”, “the sorrows of hell compassed me”, “the snares of death prevented me”.

It is important to note that in order to have the biggest God you have to begin your measurement from the lowest possible point and extend upwards to the highest, loftiest place. “He rode on a cherub and did fly”, “the Lord also did thunder in the heavens”, “He sent out His arrows”, “and shot out His lightning’s”.

King David’s God was the greatest, biggest, most powerful. And so he is our greatest example of victory through faith.
